Tekijun-kai is an association established by Yoshiko Kume who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand, with support from
Omotesenke tea lovers in November
2019.
We are learning the traditional spirit of Omotesenke 's tea gathering.
The principle of our activities is through practices of making tea and experiences of Chaji (formal tea gatherings for meals and sweets), to pursue to understand the spirit of the heart of tea as well as the Japanese culture. Our ultimate goal is to be able to enjoy each own unique tea gathering with our friends in this country fascinating us with its distinctive beautiful elements totally different from Japanese ones.

主宰の久米能子は、1992年不審庵表千家入門、2006年に不審庵表千家講師資格を授与されました。2013年には不審庵教授者講習の全所定科目受講完了、また2011年から2020年3月まで、表千家同門会兵庫県支部幹事補佐を委嘱されました。また、2020年3月には教授者として表千家に登録されました。
2024年3月現在、ニュージーランドで唯一の表千家流茶道 指導資格保持者(教授者。表千家同門会記録による)であり、かつ、表千家同門会国際茶道協会のクライストチャーチ・オークランド ユニットの代表の一人であることから、現在この地で表千家流茶道に親しみたいと望まれる方々と共に、茶の湯の喜びを共に味わい、その理解を広めていきたいと願っています。
The chairperson, Yoshiko KUME enrolled in Omotesenke's Fushin'an in 1992 and was awarded the licence of lecturer thereof in 2006. She has completed all seminars for professors of Fushin'an in
2013. She has been an executive of Omotesenke Hyogo prefecture branch since 2011. (till 31/3/2020)
Now she is registered as 'Professor' in
Omotesenke's Fushin'an.
As of March 2024, she is the only person qualified as Professor in New Zealand, and is also one of the representative of the Christchurch / Auckland unit of
Omotesenke Domonkai International Association in Kyoto, Japan.
This is why she is keen to introduce Omotesenke's Chanoyu to people in NZ who are interested in the school and share the enjoyment of tea gatherings and enrich their understanding of Chanoyu.
